  17. This control panel does three things:
  18.  
  19.     • allows you to specify the the maximum scrolling speed
  20.       (a.k.a. the "throttle".)  You can shut off the throttle entirely if you like.
  21.     • enables you to customize the "acceleration curve"
  22.       (time it takes to reach maximum scrolling speed.)
  23.     • gives you the option to scroll in "real time" when dragging the thumb.
  24.       Pressing the option key while dragging the thumb toggles between
  25.       "normal" and "dynamic" drag modes.

  27. System 6.0.5 or later is required.
  28.  
  29. To use this software, just place it in the System Folder (or the Control Panels folder,
  30. if you're running System 7.0) and restart your Macintosh.  Open the Scrolling control
  31. panel to configure scrolling speed and acceleration.  A "test" scroll bar is provided
  32. so that you can experiment with the results of different settings.

  34. Note:  The "dynamic thumb" feature provided by Scrolling may not work properly in
  35. certain applications.  If you encounter problems when dragging the thumb of a
  36. scroll bar in a particular application, hold down the option key to temporarily
  37. restore "standard" scrolling behavior (or turn off dynamic scrolling by unchecking
  38. the "Scroll With Thumb" box in the Scrolling control panel.)
